Lavender (Spike) Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Lavendula Latifolia
100% Pure therapeutic grade essential oil
Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) is an aromatic evergreen shrub with lance shaped leaves, and is broader and rougher than true lavender (L. angustifolia). The flower is more compressed and has a dull blue-grey color. The plant is native to the mountain regions of France and Spain and cultivated there. The oil is steam distilled producing a clear to yellowish liquid with a penetrating, fresh herbaceous, camphoraceous aroma. Lavender is one of the most versatile oils and most utilized.
It has been used to help manage a wide variety of ailments; headaches, rheumatic pain, skin conditions, minor pain and inflammation, and it can be emotionally uplifting. People often use spike lavender to help combat unwanted fungal and bacterial growth. It can be used to create nontoxic household products, soaps, laundry detergents and more. It blends well with Rosemary, Lavandin, Eucalyptus, Petitgrain, Pine, Cedarwood, Basil, Bay, Lemongrass, Lemon, Fir, Grapefruit, Helichrysum, Myrrh, Frankincense, Roman and German chamomile, Thyme, Vetiver, Spikenard, Sandalwood, and virtually all essential oils. It is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing.
Essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be used as single (neat) essential oils or in essential oil blends depending on user experience and desired benefit. Earth’s Own Essentials acquires essential oils from multiple suppliers and uses only 100% Pure Therapeutic and/or Organic essential oils in our blends and neat oils. We consistently search for the best oils at fair market prices.
