Frankincense (Boswellia sacra) is a small tree with abundant leaves that produce white and pink flowers. It produces a natural oleoresin which is obtained by slashing the bark and allowing the resin to bleed out and harden into amber or brown lumps. Native to Oman, Frankincense Sacra is a gem to the Middle East. Not unlike most Frankincenses, Frankincense Sacra tends to thrive in precarious environments, like rocky, eroding slopes and chalky soil.

High in monoterpenes, Frankincense Sacra has been found to be a strong analgesic and anti-inflammatory oil. It is also antimicrobial and supports numerous physical and emotional conditions. Frankincense can be used for skin care, meditation; can be supportive in fighting colds, flu, and numerous other concerns.

The resins have been traded, and used for thousands of years in religious, cultural and medicinal ways. The oil is steam distilled from the resins producing a pale yellow mobile liquid, with a pungent, woody, musky, sweet-balsamic, and earthy aroma.
