Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) is extracted from tall perennial grass native to Sri Lanka.The essential oil is steam distilled using the fresh, part-dried or dried grass. It produces a yellowy-brown liquid oil and has a light, fresh, powerful, lemony aroma. The oil blends well with Lemon, Bergamot, Orange, Cedarwood, Pine, Basil, Rosemary, Sandalwood, Geranium and several other essential oils. Citronella may cause sensitization and can irritate mucus membranes. Do not use while pregnant or nursing.
