Cornmint (Mentha arvensis) is a flowering plant which is native to the cooler areas of Europe, Asia, Eastern Siberia, and North America. The leaves are broad and hairy and produce pale, purple and white flowers. The leaves are steam distilled and produce oil that has a fresh, strong and minty aroma. Cornmint is used in many of the same ways as peppermint. It has been used for thousands of years in China, and has been found in Egyptian tombs dating back thousands of years. Cornmint blends well with Birch, Basil, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Black pepper, Geranium, Juniper, Lavender, Grapefruit, Niaouli, Rosemary, Tea tree, Marjoram, Ravensara and other oils. There are no known contraindications for this oil.
