Petitgrain Essential Oil

Botanical Name: Citrus aurantium var. amara

Petitgrain (Citrus aurantium var. amara) is obtained from the orange tree; the same tree that produces Bitter Orange and Neroli. The oil of Petitgrain is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the tree. Bitter Orange comes from the fruit, and Neroli is produced from the blossoms. The tree is native to southern China and east India, and produced in France, North Africa, Paraguay and Haiti. It is a pale yelow to amber liquid with an amazing floral, citrus and peppery aroma with an herbaceous undertone.

This is a very uplifting oil which makes it great for supporting depression, aniety, nervousness and sleeplessness. Additionally, Petitgrain is antibacterial and has antiseptic properties making it good for use on acne and oily skin.
