Marjoram (Origanum majorana) is an aromatic, bushy perennial plant with a hairy stem, dark green leaves and small grayish white flowers that grow in clusters. It is native to the Mediterranean region, Egypt and North Africa. The oil is produced in France, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Bulgaria, Hungary and Germany.

The essential oil is steam distilled from the dried flowering herb and produces a pale yellow or amber colored liquid with a warm, woody, spicy and camphorous smell.
It can be particularly useful as an analgesic, balancing moods, and supporting respiratory issues. Marjoram essential oil can be blended with many essential oils including Basil, Bergamot, Fir needle, German chamomile, Thyme, Tea tree, Rosemary, Pine, Orange, Peppermint, Petitgrain, Cedarwood, Fennel, Lemon, Orange, Juniper, and Lavender.
