Myrtle Red Essential Oil

Botanical Name: Myrtus communis

100% Pure therapeutic grade essential oil

Myrtle (Myrtus communis) is a large bush with many tough, slender branches, fragrant sharp leaves and white flowers which produce small black berries. The plant is native to North Africa, and grows all over the Mediterranean. The oil is produced mainly in Morocco and other areas like Corsica, Spain, Italy, France and Tunisia. The essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs (sometimes the flowers).

The oil is thin, orangeish in color, and has a clear, fresh, sweet-herbaceous camphorous scent, similar to eucalyptus. It blends well with Cedarwood, Bergamot, Rosemary, Clary sage, Frankincense, Lavender, Hyssop, Lime, Ginger, Neroli, Rose, Sandalwood, Ylang Ylang, Clove, Bay, and other spice oils. Myrtle is non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing. Myrtle is a great oil to use to support a cold or flu; to reduce tension, help break up congestion, and can provide relief for muscle pains and strains, and pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids.

Essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be used as single (neat) essential oils or in essential oil blends depending on user experience and desired benefit. Earth’s Own Essentials acquires essential oils from multiple suppliers and uses only 100% Pure Therapeutic and/or Organic essential oils in our blends and neat oils. We consistently search for the best oils at fair market prices.
