The Amyris is a small bushy tree with clusters of leaves and white flowers which originated in Haiti, but is being cultivated in tropical areas like South and Central America, and Jamaica. The oil is steam distilled from the branches and broken wood, and produces a pale yellow, slightly viscous liquid with a faint woody/musty scent that quickly fades.

This oil blends well with Lavandin, Citronnella, Cedarwood and other wood oils. Generally a non-irritant, non-toxic and non-sensitizing. Use caution while pregnant or when nursing.
