Orange (Blood) Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Citrus sinensis
100% Pure therapeutic grade essential oil
Blood Orange (Citrus sinensis) is native to China and the fresh ripe or almost ripe outer peel is cold pressed in Italy. Blood orange is extensively cultivated in America and around the Mediterranean. It comes from an evergreen tree and has a sweet pulp. It produces a yellowy-orange to dark orange liquid with a sweet, fresh and fruity scent. Therapeutic properties of the Blood Orange are very similar to Sweet Orange essential oil. An excellent mood elevator, it is well known for its' antibacterial, antiviral, and antiseptic properties. it is also also great for adding to diffuser blends to help cleanse the air of unwanted germs and microbial activity.
Blood orange blends well with Neroli, lemon, clary sage, black pepper, cinnamon, myrrh, clove, frankincense, eucalyptus and many other essential oils. It is generally non-toxic and a non-irritant. Being cold pressed decreases the possibility of sensitivity, however, precautions when exposing your skin to the sun after application is recommended. As with all essential oils, do not use when pregnant or nursing.
Essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. They can be used as single (neat) essential oils or in essential oil blends depending on user experience and desired benefit. Earth’s Own Essentials acquires essential oils from multiple suppliers and uses only 100% Pure Therapeutic and/or Organic essential oils in our blends and neat oils.
