The Bergamot tree (Citrus bergamia) is small with smooth oval leaves, bearing small fruits that ripen from green to yellow. It is native to tropical Asia and extensively cultivated in southern Italy. The fruit peel is cold-pressed producing a light green to yellowish liquid with an uplifting fruity citrus spice aroma. Bergamot can be used in skincare: acne, boils, cold sores, oily complexion, and more. It can support the respiratory system, the digestive system; the Immune system (It can help with cold and flu, and certain infectious diseases. It also supports the nervous system, helping relieve anxiety, depression, and stress.
The oil blends well with Lavender, Cypress, Black pepper, Juniper Berry, Frankincense, Nutmeg, Rosemary, Vetiver, and most essential oils.
Bergamot oil can be phototoxic to skin. When using this oil do not expose your skin to direct sunlight for at least 12 hours. Otherwise, this oil is non-toxic and a non-irritant. Do not use while pregnant or nursing.
