Blue Tansy (Tanaceum annuum) – Not to be confused with Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) essential oil)- is similar to German (blue) chamomile oil. It is an herbaceous perennial of the aster family, and native to the warmer climates of Asia and Europe. The leaves and golden flowers of the plant are steam distilled, and the result is a sweet, floral, herbaceous, and apple-like aroma, with a thick oil and a vivid, deep blue color. Blue Tansy is produced from a seasonal crop that requires optimal conditions for it to grow.

This essential oil is often used to help ease nerve pain, acute arthritis, and fibromyalgia.. It has potent anti-inflammatory properties, and is useful for soothing topical inflammation and easing itchy bug bites. Blue tansy essential oil can help ease muscle spasms and help reduce the presence of unwanted bacterial, fungal, or viral activity.

Blue tansy essential oil relaxes and encourages. It is especially soothing if you are highly stressed, and your mind is overworked. It can help promote relaxation, in spite of your stress levels, and help bring soothing relief from minor pain and inflammation.

It blends well with Cedarwood, Balsam, Bergamot, Roman Chamomile, Ylang ylang, Pine, Clary Sage, Cypress, Frankincense, Geranium Rose, Ravensara, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Cistus, Helichrysum,Neroli, Patchouli, Lavender, Lemon, Sweet Marjoram, Niaouli, Spruce, Fir, Rosemary, and Tea Tree. Women with endocrine imbalance should not use this oil. May cause skin irritation in some people. Conduct a patch test using a carrier oil before applying to skin. Do not use when pregnant or nursing.
