The Cedarwood tree (Cedrus virginiana) is a slow growing evergreen tree with a narrow, dense, and pointed top with red hardwood and produces brown cones. It is native to North America particularly the regions east of the Rockies. American Indians used Cedarwood for a variety of ailments including rheumatism, arthritis, kidney infections, social diseases, skin rashes, colds and flu. The oil has so many practical applications, its popularity continues to grow.

The oil is steam distilled using wood parts and produces an enchanting aroma that can immediately ground you and connect you back to the earth and all its wonders, relieving the stress and nervous tension of the day. The resulting oil is a pale yellow, to orange color with a woody, earthy and balsamic aroma. Cedarwood mixes well with most oils including; Rosemary, Vetiver, Clary sage, Neroli, Frankincense, Petitgrain, and Lemongrass.
