Carrot seed (Daucus carota) is a flowering plant with multi-branched stems, hairy leaves and clusters of white lacy flowers (commonly called Queen Anne's lace). Native to Europe, Asia and North Africa, it was naturalized in North America. The essential oil is mainly produced in France.

This oil is steam distilled from the dried seeds, and produces a yellow to amber colored liquid that has a warm, earthy, and woody aroma. It blends well with Bergamot, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Geranium, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Citrus and Spice oils, and many others. Carrot seed essential oil is non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing; it can be helpful with circulation in the joints and muscles; can support the digestive system; and can be beneficial for skin care, and supportive to the digestive system. Do not use while pregnant or nursing.
