Dill (Anethum graveolens) is an annual or biennial herb with a smooth stem, feathery leaves and blusters of yellow flowers followed by flat small seeds. It is native to the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions but is now cultivated worldwide, especially in Europe, USA, China and India. The dill seed oil is mainly produced in Europe; France, Germany, England, Spain, and Hungary. It has been used for centuries as a medicine and culinary herb. The essential oil is steam distilled from the seeds and produces a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a light fresh warm spicy scent. Dill seed oil blends well with Mint, Nutmeg, Aniseed, Black pepper, Caraway, Elemi, Fennel, Lemon, Orange, Peppermint, and other oils. It is non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing.
