Lemon Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Citrus limon
100% Pure therapeutic grade essential oil
The Lemon tree (Citrus limon) was originally a small thorny evergreen tree native to India. It is now common in Southern Europe, Florida and California, and the Mediterranean region. It is cultivated worldwide in Italy, Sicily, North America, Israel and other locales. The oil is cold pressed from the skin. Lemon itself had been deemed a “cure all” in Spanish and European countries, especially regarding infectious illnesses, and as a fever reducer, and for other circulatory, and respiratory concerns.
Lemon essential oil is pale yellow to greenish in color and possesses a light, fresh, citrus scent. It blends well with Lavender, Ylang ylang, Rose, Sandalwood, Chamomile, Fennel, Geranium, Lavandin, Juniper, Myrrh, Palmarosa, Peppermint, Jasmine, Hyssop and a host of other oils. It is non-toxic, but may cause dermal irritation or sensitization in some people. Conduct a patch test with carrier oil prior to application. Lemon essential oil is photo-toxic; do not use on skin exposed to direct sunlight. Do not use when pregnant or nursing.
Essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications. Earth’s Own Essentials acquires essential oils from multiple suppliers and uses only 100% Pure Therapeutic and/or Organic essential oils in our blends and neat oils.
