The Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris) is a tall evergreen, growing 30 to 70 feet tall, with a flat crown. It has a reddish brown bark with stiff needles, and pointed brown cones. Scotch Pines are usually cut and used as Christmas trees. They are native to Europe and Asia, and cultivated in the U.S., Europe, Scandinavia, Finland, and other places. There are many species of pine that essential oils are produced from. The essential oil is steam distilled from the needles and twigs resulting in a fresh, fragrant, thin liquid with an aroma that reminds you of a walk in the forest.

Pine has been used for centuries among cultures and is one of the best oils for support in easing arthritis, rheumatic conditions and muscle pains. Pine is a great go to for support during cold and flu season, and can help ease fatigue, neuralgia, and stress related conditions.
