AMYRIS
Botanical Name: (Amyris balsamifera)
100% Pure Therapeutic Quality Essential Oil

Is a bushy tree with white flowers, and grows wild in thickets over the island of Haiti. You can also find it in Jamaica, Central and South America. The seasoned, broken up wood and branches are steam distilled and produce a gentle, sweet, balsamic yet woody-with a hint of vanilla aroma for this oil. It is pale yellow in color and has a slightly thick consistency. Amyris’ refreshingly stimulating aroma strips away stress while grounding and allowing you to exhale.  It contains up to 70% alcohols and around 20% sesquiterpenes.  The high alcohol and sesquiterpene content contribute to the oil’s sedative, calming, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It has many medicinal benefits including helping to soothe coughs and ease bronchial congestion while its antiseptic properties help fight germs. Use it for skin rashes, muscle cramps or digestive cramps. It is also used for perfumery and fragrance. This is a good oil for use in masculine blends. It blends well with Cedarwood and other wood oils, lavender, bergamot and more.

Amyris Essential oil has been referred to as West Indian Sandalwood, but it is not sandalwood oil. It is a totally different plant and oil. While its aroma might be similar to Sandalwood’s it belongs to the citrus family, Rutaceae. There are no known hazards for Amyris Oil.
