Fir (Balsam) Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Abies balsamea
100% Pure therapeutic grade essential oil
Fir Balsam oil (Abies balsamea) is native to eastern and central Canada and the United States. The Balsam Fir tree has a narrow cone shaped crown with leaves that are needle-like and flat. The oil is obtained from the leaves and steam distilled creating a watery, clear liquid with a sweet, fresh, woody, and evergreen scent similar to a fresh cut Christmas tree. It can add an uplifting fragrance to the air and can be effective at killing airborne germs. Fir can ease muscle pain and stiffness, and support arthritis, rheumatism and other body pains.
It blends well with Pine, Cypress, Frankincense, Juniper, Juniper- berry, Lavender, Rosemary, Cedar, Lemon, Basil, and other oils. Balsam Fir has no known safety factors, it is generally non-toxic,and non-irritating, but can cause sensitization in some people. Conduct a patch test using a carrier oil prior to use.
