Jasmine Absolute Essential Oil
Botanical Name: Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum absolute)
100% Pure therapeutic grade essential oil
Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum) is a delicate, evergreen climbing shrub with green foliage and ivory, star-like flowers that bloom in early evening. The fragrant smell of Jasmine is unforgettable! The blooms are hand-picked during the night while their intense floral bouquet is at its peak, and converted into essential oil by a solvent extraction process. Solvent extraction is fulfilled by treating the flowers with solvents which allow the compound to precipitate out; then the mixture is evaporated to leave the absolute behind. Considered aromatherapy royalty, Jasmine is often described as clean, exotic, floral, fruity, sweet, and heady. Heralded as “The King of Oils”, Jasmine is very costly, but its usefulness, and benefits outweigh the price. Jasmine is native to China, northern India and west Asia, and cultivated in the Meditteranean, China and India. The absolute is a dark orange-brown, viscous liquid. Jasmine can support respiratory ailments, menstrual problems, muscle pain and stiffness and acts as an aphrodisiac.
It blends well with Bergamot, Birch, Cardamom, Rose, Sandalwood, Clary sage, Tangerine, Vetiver, Ylang ylang, Lemon, Neroli, Patchouli, Petitgrain, Geranium, Coriander, German and Roman chamomile and has the ability to round off any rough notes and blend with almost everything. Jasmine is non-toxic and non-irritant; generally it is also non-sensitizing, but an allergic reaction has been known to occur in some individuals. Conduct a patch test using a carrier oil before applying.
